Wheels in Winona

Today there was an event in Winona for the new splash pad and limitless park that they are going to start building this summer.  They had lots of different kinds of vehicles for the kids to see, touch and sometimes sit in.  Pete also got to paint a block for the donors mural, jump in a bounce house and ride a "train".  We brought a friend along for Pete so he had even more of a blast since he had someone his age to hang out with.  Pete loved seeing all of the trucks and such.

Pregnancy

So I try to avoid writing about pregnancy too much, mostly because it just makes it take longer to think about it; plus who wants to read about it...really? Things are going well, Nora is measuring right where she should be and her butt is right under my ribs.  I also think Miley Cyrus was a bit too popular in the beginning of the pregnancy because I think she's picked up twerking already and it isn't cool when unborn do it either.  Not cool.

This time has been a bit different from Pete.  My feet swell up if I'm not careful about what I'm doing, only happened once with Pete and that was from spending an entire day canning 3 days before his due date.  Heartburn has amazingly been worse, didn't think it was possible, but this little one has proved that it can be. My poor fingers in the morning are so stiff and sore, I feel like I have claw fingers when I first wake up, but it goes away once I get up and get moving again.  Apparently they don't like the whole sleeping thing and swell up in just the right places to make them stiff and sore, but without making them look like sausages.

No those are not swollen, I'm just showing you my awesome toenails, I used Jamberry nail wraps on them the other day. Goal: have the coolest toenails in the maternity ward. (Just a little vain)
I know just what everyone wanted to read about today, the aches and pains of pregnancy.  Really though I don't mind too much and am just so thankful to be able to be carrying this little one and be so close to having her!  Friday I'll be 37 weeks (40 weeks is the magical number in case you were wondering) so really not much longer!  Eventually I finish the last couple things for the nursery and post that as well.

Pete's First Race

Saturday the high school hosted a 5k and 1 mile run/roll/walk.  Phil did the 5k, ended up getting 3rd in his age group for it as well!  Even without any training. I came later with Pete and the three of us did the 1 mile event.  The boys were going much faster than me and eventually lapped me.  Pete ran pretty much the entire time and was carried for only a couple hundreds yards in the middle.  Pete and Phil both ended up getting medals for it.  Personally I was just happy to have survived and completed it! Okay I might be exaggerating just a little bit.

Do you see that baby belly?!-I'm walking out of the picture.  Geez, I'm Huge!

A Trip to the Dentist

Pete had a dentist appointment on Friday.  It really isn't a new thing for him, he's been going every six months since he was 18 months old.  This time though he was so wonderful for them!  Normally he lets them look at his teeth, count them, brush and maybe floss, but not much else.  This time he let them do a full cleaning, we're talk the scraping even people!  They scraped, and picked and polished, flossed and brushed!  Then they took some x-rays and let the dentist check him out.  Cavity Free!  He even got a balloon animal dog out of it, she even met Pete's request of making a Dex Dachshund for him!  He was excited and earned his picture on the cavity free wall club.  He is turning into such a big boy!

A "Sweet" Find

Okay yes I'll admit I'm a "dumpster diver".  Though mostly I just pick them up off the curb and throw them in my trunk and take them home, there aren't too many actual dumpsters in my area.  I got a new to us Adirondack chair a couple weeks ago, it just needs a fresh coat of paint and it will be like new.  My most recent find is amazing!  I was super excited about it even before I actually knew how perfect it was!
A Candy vending machine!  Isn't it awesome!  I didn't know if it had the key when I picked it up but figured I could probably find a replacement fairly easily anyway.  Well it did have it stuck in the top and opens up nicely to fill and collect money.  Isn't it cool.  I'm going to give it a good scrubbing this weekend and then fill it and take it into Phil's classroom.
