Peter's Blessing...and Grandma's Birthday

Actually the title should be the other way around but, well we won't go into the reasons why Pete must come first in this list, he just does...because I said so...Blessing first. He was super cute in his gown and it actually fit him, I was armed with diaper pins to make it fit, but it was perfect. He slept through the whole blessing! After church we headed over to the park and had a picnic with the family and consumed 48 hot dogs and the majority of a cake. Now we are going to take a trip back in time to Saturday when we had grandma's birthday party. We started out the day at Indianapolis Museum of Art, which has free admission all the time and great grounds around it, and took some family pictures. I think they turned out pretty well, especially considering the number of kids 4 years old and under. We then had a cookout at Matt and Tashina's and had 2 cakes, seeing a pattern here?...We got her a Kiva gift card to give a microloan to someone in need somewhere in the world.

Appleseeds and a Birthday

This weekend we went up to Warsaw to have a bonfire and go to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. We got up there on Friday evening and had a yummy lasagna with homemade noodles and watched a few episodes of The Guild. Saturday morning we hurried to an embroidery shop to have Pete's name put on his blessing gown. We then went to Fort Wayne to the festival. It was super fun with lots of cool early American handcrafts and re-enactors and not to mention yummy food. One of the coolest things while there was learning about spinning, I already knew about wool and cotton spinning but they had flax spinning for linen. That is some amazing stuff! Once we got back to the house the bonfire started! I love bonfires with family and friends. Phil's birthday was celebrated and chose fruit pizza instead of cake. In the morning we had to head back home to make it to church on time, but not before Pete had a bath...

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Phil! Thanks for being such a great Hubby and Daddy! We both love you so much there isn't enough room on the blog to show it (or the internet to hold it)...

1 month

At Pete's appointment today he was 9 lbs 9oz and 22 inches (he was all scrunched up). I don't think that is too bad considering at his lightest weight he was 7lbs 11oz, that is 2 oz short of a 2 lbs gain! Doctor Russ said that everything is great and he is right on track. Okay now for some pictures for the occasion of his 1 month doctor's appointment.

Eye Candy

Here's some eye candy for everyone and lets see who can tell what is new with Kim and Phil in the pictures. (answer at the bottom of the post)

Can you tell what is different? We got new glasses! I am super excited about them, I haven't had a new pair since freshman year of college and I'm a senior now. Phil's are more noticeable than mine are, but they are different than the one I did have. Also everyone now knows what Pete will be wearing to church or wore to church. Oh I love these guys of mine, such hunks! (Phil and Pete, not the glasses, though those are nice too.)

Weekend Fun

Once Phil got off of classes on Friday we headed up to Warsaw to see my family. Friday night we planned on going on the Dixie, but it was too windy and wasn't going out on the last trip of the night, but we did get a yummy Pizza King dinner. Saturday we stayed at the house and made a ton of applesauce then had lots of family over for a bonfire. Sunday was church and in the afternoon a baby shower for Pete. He got lots of goodies and fun things, and a ton of clothes! Just before Matt and his family had to leave we took family pictures. We tried again to catch the Dixie, but it was too late. Monday we packed up all of our stuff and finished up our laundry, went to a garage sell after watching the Dixie pull out into the lake (just missed it!), and then finally got to ride the Dixie before heading home. 69 was a beast as it usually is on the way home from a holiday and was backed up at the Gas City exit so we got off and took some back roads and ended up at Ivanhoe's in Upland enjoying an ice cream sundae! It was a great weekend and Pete's first long trip in the car, he slept the whole way home, even through the ice cream break!
