Random Christmas Happenings

I had a few super cute pictures that I had to share but didn't really fit in with anything. We feed Pete his first carrots today. We went on a walk at Potato Creek State Park the day after Christmas and just a random picture of Pete in some Sunday clothes.

Christmas with the Horns

This year was the first year that we didn't have Christmas on Christmas day, it was quite a change for us! It was fun to have every one around and be able to spend the majority of our Christmas day together instead of rushing off to other places. The floor pillows for Ally and Ben were my biggest project of the season, then while I was loading pictures I realized I didn't take any pictures of either of them, other than Ally opening it! Uggh.... Maybe I'll have to take some action shots sometime when we visit them. I thought they were amazingly cute and useful. Lucy got some handy leg warmers that I made her out of women's knee socks. Mom and Tashina got a blank journal made by Phil and a reusable produce bag for farmers market that I made. Matt and Dad got a list of C.S. Lewis quotes that the leaders of our church have used during general conference, organized and bound by Phil. We received some great stuff too! We are super excited to use the cabana from Matt and Tashina this summer at the beach or park. We both also got kindles that are amazing and fun. Don't be surprised if all you hear us talk about for books are classics, because those are free from amazon. Phil and Pete both got Yoda towels that my Mom made for them. Pete got lots of toys, a cute blanket and a few clothes. What a wonderful holiday season it has been so far!

Christmas with the Calls

Our first stop on our Christmas tour was Batesville. We had a great time with everyone just playing and spending time together. Phil and I built a snowman while Pete was napping in the house. I think it turned out quite cute.

Posting

Everything I have been working on lately has been about Christmas and gifts for people who check my blog so I can't really post about it and ruin the surprise. In other news though Pete is now 4 months old and getting bigger daily. He loves rice cereal, the little chow hound! He'll grab the spoon and help shove it in if you go too slowly. I'll try to get a picture today when I feed it to him. We had some more family pictures taken the other day. I'll post those once I get them, because part of the deal is that we get the digital copy of all the pictures taken! Well that is about it for right now. Oh and Phil survived finals week and we are both approved for May graduation!

Cat in the Hat

I love this outfit. Our friend Monica got it for him as a shower gift and I adore it. I went out and made babylegs just for it about a month ago because I didn't want to cover it up with pants. Oh babylegs how I love you! Sometime this week he will be wearing some Hanukkah ones. Well enjoy looking at this cutie. Sadly this will be one of the last pictures in this suit because Pete is moving up to 3/6 month clothes.

mmm...turkey...

Not your typical turkey, but a knit one, on the cutest boy around. I must say it is the tastiest turkey I've ever had, especially those ears! I could nibble on them all day long! I made this just the other day. I found the pattern and decided that I had to have it. I'm thinking that I might have to make one for next year too, heck maybe a whole flock for the family. Now I have to start working on his winter hat for the year. It is pretty amazing as well. I don't have a picture up right now because Pete decided to snooze instead of model his hat for me. So they'll have to wait 'til nap time is over. Also if anyone is interested in purchasing any of my hats let me know and we can arrange something, if you have something I haven't made but want let me know as well and I can see what I can do and give you a price.

Playing on the Bed

I had my hair cut on Wednesday, 8 inches came off right at the beginning. They are actually still in my purse in the ziploc baggy (before you freak out the last time I used a purse was the day Pete was born and that Wednesday night) It is pretty much the same hair cut as before just a heck of a lot shorter! I love it though. It is crazy how much lighter it is without that hair there. Okay so if you are curious about the title that is what Pete does while I do my hair now (that I actually have to do something with it). Pete really enjoys sitting up and looking around and it lets me blow dry my hair without having to listen to that noise and a screaming baby. The other day we were doing our routine and I pulled out the camera a snapped a few pictures (50...don't you love digital?!) I thought they turned out adorable. Also in case anyone was worried I didn't forget that Pete turned 3 months old yesterday! Where has the time gone, how the heck is it November, wasn't it just August? Phil has been super busy this week with school, church callings, and work. We were talking about next semester this morning and realized that he will be home more while student teaching. sick.

The Boy in the Bear Suit

It snowed last night, and not just a little. It was giant fluffy flakes even.We expected it to be melted pretty quick, but it is still here at 9am! So we took Pete out to "enjoy" his first snow...

Pete's Penguin Friend

Pete has a new friend. Personally I don't like him that much. He got his new friend after he had a cough for about a week and was starting to sound and feel rattly. He went to go see his doctor and got to come home with this little fellow. He doesn't have to use it all the time just when he starts sounding bad, but it is working he was waking up 3 times a night, last night only once. Now if we can get him back down for 10 hours without waking up, like normal that would be great! This is the second machine Pete has had the first was "Snuffy" his billiblanket that came home with us from the hospital for about a week. The doctor told us this is only a limited time thing that happened in his little lungs and not a long term thing like asthma. Hopefully after next week this little bird will take flight...

Cutest Pumpkin You'll Ever See

We bought this cute suit last year before we even thought about having Pete and it fits! We got it on super clearance at Target. Tomorrow you might watch out for a cute skeleton...

BabyLegs and an Ewok with an appointment

It starts like this. Pete has a cute onesie the couldn't have pants go over it because the design took over the whole thing. So I thought baby legs would be great, but there is no way I am going to pay that much for these things. So I made some and a whole bunch more. Then I tried on his Halloween costume to see if it fit him for my mom, the wonderful seamstress in this case. I don't do these because I hate following patterns, I'd rather fake it or make my own. Cutie!
And here are some cute pictures I randomly found on my camera that I had forgotten to take off. Oops.
Pete had his 2 month check up. He was 11 lbs 10 oz and 24 inches long. He was just around 50 percentile on everything.

...Also go check out edible endeavors I actually updated stuff...

Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

This is quickly becoming confusing for me. I am referring to my grandparents and Pete's great grandparents. I went and hung out with them for the day today and had a fun time check out the nice pictures we got.

Peter's Blessing...and Grandma's Birthday

Actually the title should be the other way around but, well we won't go into the reasons why Pete must come first in this list, he just does...because I said so...Blessing first. He was super cute in his gown and it actually fit him, I was armed with diaper pins to make it fit, but it was perfect. He slept through the whole blessing! After church we headed over to the park and had a picnic with the family and consumed 48 hot dogs and the majority of a cake. Now we are going to take a trip back in time to Saturday when we had grandma's birthday party. We started out the day at Indianapolis Museum of Art, which has free admission all the time and great grounds around it, and took some family pictures. I think they turned out pretty well, especially considering the number of kids 4 years old and under. We then had a cookout at Matt and Tashina's and had 2 cakes, seeing a pattern here?...We got her a Kiva gift card to give a microloan to someone in need somewhere in the world.

Appleseeds and a Birthday

This weekend we went up to Warsaw to have a bonfire and go to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. We got up there on Friday evening and had a yummy lasagna with homemade noodles and watched a few episodes of The Guild. Saturday morning we hurried to an embroidery shop to have Pete's name put on his blessing gown. We then went to Fort Wayne to the festival. It was super fun with lots of cool early American handcrafts and re-enactors and not to mention yummy food. One of the coolest things while there was learning about spinning, I already knew about wool and cotton spinning but they had flax spinning for linen. That is some amazing stuff! Once we got back to the house the bonfire started! I love bonfires with family and friends. Phil's birthday was celebrated and chose fruit pizza instead of cake. In the morning we had to head back home to make it to church on time, but not before Pete had a bath...

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Phil! Thanks for being such a great Hubby and Daddy! We both love you so much there isn't enough room on the blog to show it (or the internet to hold it)...

1 month

At Pete's appointment today he was 9 lbs 9oz and 22 inches (he was all scrunched up). I don't think that is too bad considering at his lightest weight he was 7lbs 11oz, that is 2 oz short of a 2 lbs gain! Doctor Russ said that everything is great and he is right on track. Okay now for some pictures for the occasion of his 1 month doctor's appointment.
