Phil and Pete

Apparently it seems that someone is already playing favorites before even being born. Pete likes Phil more than me, I don't see how. I mean I spend the most time with him, 24 for 7 (for the love of Pete), I feed him (quite well personally), and about everything else he needs at the moment. But for some reason whenever Phil talks to him he goes crazy, but when I try to get him to move for me nothing, still as can be. This morning I was trying to get him to move with no luck so I gave up and had Phil come talk to him, immediately it is kicking and squirming. Phil thinks that Pete likes Weird Al, since that is what he was singing to him. At least we know that Peter likes Phil so that is good and pretty dang cute, though it would be nice if he would do it for me sometimes...

Moving...still....

Our house is still a mess and there isn't much we can do about it. We still have to finish up at the other place by cleaning the carpets, moving furniture, mopping floors and planting the garden. We only have a few things left to get out and our living room and Peter's room show it, oh and our bedroom, and kitchen and dining room. It really doesn't help when the floor smells super bad and we can't use the food storage closet because of it until they come to clean it. I never realized how much food storage we had until it has been sitting on the dining room table for a week. uggh.

One good thing is though that most (Notice the most, but not all) of Phil's books are on the books cases. Bad thing about that though he fills up (with only his books, he conveniently forgot about mine) our 6 foot book case and our smaller 4 foot bookcase! Doesn't that seem a bit extreme or is it just me? My books are still in boxes, some haven't even gotten to come down to Muncie and are still in storage up in Warsaw. Good thing I went out and tried to find another one the other day, and had Mom and Dad pick it up in Fort Wayne for me (it was even on clearance). I also know that this will only be filled with my books, though I think Phil may be planning something to undermine that idea. But I don't know what...Also someone asked us if we had a bookcase for Peter's books/our kid books, and we realized that they don't fit on our book cases. So once we figure out what is going on in his room we'll have to figure something else out. I have another one up at my parents, but it is being used as a plant stand at the moment so I may have to duke it out with them for Peter's sake...

Sorry this post is so long and with no pictures, but my camera is somewhere in the apartment, but I don't know where really. The best thing is we get to do it all again next year, which makes it really tempting not to bother unpacking.

Moving

Life has been a bit crazy this week with the big move. My only jobs have been packing and unpacking really which isn't too bad. The kitchen is now all put together and I still have 2 cupboards that are empty (not that they will stay that way for long). The first night there was just a huge pile of boxes in the middle of the living room and junk in the dining room. Yesterday I was able to put away all of the kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, pushed all of the books in Peter's closet, and kind of set up the living room. It is nice that it is starting to look like a living area instead of a storage unit. Something gross that I discovered yesterday is that the old lady who lived there before us had a cat, apparently it really liked to pee in one corner of the living room and smells nasty. We are calling the landlord about this because it is gross and they were supposed to at least clean the carpet, if not replace it. Other than that the new place is wonderful. I got to sit on the porch yesterday and work on a paper in the wonderful sunshine. Hopefully that will stick around for awhile!

Pistachio is no longer Pistachio...

...Because he's Peter! We had an ultrasound today and got to see the little fellow. The poor lady doing the ultrasound had a horrible time of it because the nut was moving so much. She had to fight for all of the measurements that she needed, personally I didn't complain about a longer appointment it just means that we got to see him move around a whole bunch. We are super excited to have him. Sadly though he is taking after my side of the family and is measuring large, I was really hoping though small Call genes would win out, so far the Horn ones are winning as far as size is concerned. The doctor said that everything looked good and was there that needed to be. We even got a whole bunch of pictures and a dvd of the whole thing for the scrapbook. I need to find a book to us so that I don't loose everything in the move in a little bit. We packed up about 6 boxes the other day and tossed/goodwill-ed quite a few things we didn't want/need. Oh the joy of downsizing while increasing the family size...
